India 2010

The school visits continue.

I've been to Bows Boys' three times this year and each visit's been a laugh. What's interesting is it hugely dispproves the old adage that boys won't read girl heroes. Total rubbish. Anyway, here's a few piccies from the visits. Thanks again to all the lads at Bows and see you next year when Dark Goddess comes out!

September 2009, The grand tour of America!

This will be something I add to over time, but first up is a snap-shot of my visit to Kingwood High School in Texas. It was all rather overwhelming since it's the first time I'd addressed so many people. To think, this was just the beginning...

Moscow, July 2009

A large part of The Dark Goddess is set in Russia. To make sure I wrote an authentic setting, what better way than just to get out there and see for myself? It'll make a world of difference and TDG will blow your socks off!

29th-31st May 2009, the Book Expo America, or me in NEW YORK!

I was lucky enough to be invited to the annual BEA where all the great and the good of publishing descend for , oh, lots of reasons but mainly to talk about books. I met the awesome Ari Lewin (yes, I did!) and Meg Cabot was there, so was Julie Andrews, Neil Gaiman and China Mieville and many others. I just stood nearby pretending I knew them.

15th May 2009, Launch Party

The launch party was held at the wonderful Dulwich Picture Gallery and after long discussions it was agreed that it was safer for the knights to play OUTSIDE. No-one was injured (too badly) and the speeches were short and to the point. Okay, they were apart from mine. But hey, it was my party.

27th March 2009, Oaklands High School

Well, I'd never actually done a school visit before so Oaklands were very brave to invite me for the trial run. Swords were involved, and ghosts and also a collection of flesh eating bugs.
